Notes:

Mandatory: The best available equivalent course for learning key components of the Core Curriculum. Funding is automatically approved & trainees are often auto-enrolled in local or regional courses. Capacity is widely available across Yorkshire and the Humber.

Recommended: Excellent courses providing good opportunities for learning Core Curriculum components, but other options, including experiential learning, are available. Availability may vary so trainees may need to travel to other Y&H hospitals to attend. Funding will be approved.

Optional: Excellent courses for those with a specific area of interest. Funding approved for courses within Yorkshire and Humber

Discretionary: Courses not required for Core Curriculum delivery but may benefit a trainee’s overall Professional Development. All courses not mentioned above are “discretionary”. Funding is up to the discretion of the TPD following advice from the Heads of School, and when given, may be limited.

 

 

Stage 2 and 3

General Rules: 

One conference per stage of training (dual ICM trainees can have one conference for each specialty). Travel/stay is discretionary and will depend on overall cost.
One GIC for higher trainees-course fee only
ATLS OR ETC, not both-course fee only.
First attempt at FRCA final-travel and accommodation only, not exam fee
Exam courses-approved Final FRCA local courses (e.g Leeds crammer for West). If struggling with exam, speak to TPD, may be able to access funding for additional courses
Check with TPD before applying for expensive courses
