Academic Presentation Day

As you are aware, a fresh round of Junior Doctors Industrial Action (IA) was announced this week. The SFP presentation day falls on the day of IA.

Unfortunately, we will have to postpone this SFP presentation to a later date. This is in line with the policy of postponing all teaching, conferences and events during Industrial Action. I understand this news is disappointing, having prepared for this event for some time now - especially the participants with their presentations and the Programme Support team who set up venue, catering, judges etc.,

I would like to assure you that we will work towards holding this event at a future date either as an in person or online presentation (depending on timelines and logistics).

The 2024 YHFS Academic Presentation Day will be held on Friday 28th June 2024 at the Eco Power Stadium, Doncaster DN4 5JW. F2 SFP Research trainees will be given the opportunity to present their work to their colleagues and peers at an annual Presentation Day event. All trainees will produce an abstract and poster for the event. These will be assessed by the Foundation School Director, Deputies, YHFS Academic Lead and Medical School Leads. The top posters will be given the opportunity to orally present at the event. Previous event information can be found on the FDocs online portal here

This event is a face-to-face event.

Attendance at this event is mandatory for FY2 trainees. FY1s are invited, but attendance is not mandatory. If you would like to attend and are having difficulty getting time off, please contact the foundation inbox at England.foundation.yh@nhs.net.

This is a fantastic opportunity to share your research outputs with colleagues across Yorkshire and the Humber and to network with others interested in research. Previous attendees have found the interactions with their peers highly beneficial.
