2021 National Recruitment
The National Recruitment Office for ST3 Trauma & Orthopaedic Surgery is Health Education England Yorkshire and the Humber. We are recruiting to posts across England and Scotland. All posts have the required educational and Dean’s approval.
Applications will open at 10am on 26 November 2020 and will close at 4pm on 17 December 2020. All interviews will take place online. Applicants will submit one application electronically for all vacancies via the Oriel recruitment portal. A summary of the recruitment process is provided below. The 2021 handbook and Self-Assessment guidance are now available to the right of this page. Please note there have been slight adjustments to the handbook as of 9 November.
Please note: Candidates applying in 2021 will not be required to submit Personal Skills Assessment forms as part of the recruitment process.

Immigration ruling: With effect from 6 October 2019, all medical practictioners are on the Shortage Occupation List. This means that with the exception of applicants to Public Health, all specialty recruitment applicants will be exempt from the RLMT and there will be no restriction on their employment. The Applicant Handbook has now been updated to reflect this.

Please be reminded that as per the 2021 Person Specification, ATLS (or equivalent) is not an essential requirement for application to ST3 Trauma & Orthopaedics in the current recruitment round.
