The expected duration of this training programme is 3 years subject to satisfactory progression. The actual duration may depend on the circumstances of individual trainees.

Round 2 recruitment for posts starting in February 2019 will begin on Tuesday 31 July 2018. Applications will open from 10:00 on Tuesday 31 July and will close at 16:00 on Thursday 16 August 2018.
National Psychiatry recruitment is led by Health Education North West. For information about the recruitment process, including about how to apply, please see the National Recruitment Office. Round 2 interviews for all vacancies will be run nationally by Health Education North West.
The interviews will take place on Monday 15, Thursday 18, and Friday 19 October 2018 at Etihad Stadium, Manchester.
For those attending the interviews, please note that any travel expense claims will be dealt with by the National Recruitment Office. Please ensure that you submit your claim as soon as you can after the event to avoid any claims being refused.

Round 2 posts will start in February 2019, however, post start dates will be confirmed through Oriel during preferencing and when offers are made.
Deferrals may be granted but are only possible for the reasons listed within the Gold Guide. It is only possible to grant deferrals if you have a ‘statutory’ reason, such as ill health or maternity leave. General Adult Psychiatry training is provided within two geographical areas and posts will be located in either North, East & West Yorkshire or South Yorkshire. Trainees will be expected to travel within the boundaries of the scheme for which they have accepted an offer.
