Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery ST1/ST3
Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery (OMFS) training in Yorkshire and the Humber
The specialty of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery (OMFS) is unique in requiring a dual qualification in medicine and dentistry and is recognised within Europe as defined under the medical directives.
The scope of the specialty is extensive and includes the diagnosis and management of facial injuries, head and neck cancers, salivary gland diseases, facial disproportion, facial pain, temporomandibular joint (TMJ) disorders, impacted teeth, cysts and tumours of the jaws as well as numerous problems affecting the oral mucosa such as mouth ulcers and infections.
The expected duration of this training programme is 7 Years at ST1 or 5 years at ST3 subject to satisfactory progression. The actual duration may depend on the circumstances of individual trainees.

Applying
Round 1 recruitment for posts in ST1 and ST3 commencing from August 2020. Applications will open from 10:00 on 7th of November 2020 and applications will close on the 28th of November 2020 at 16:00.

Interviews
Round 1 interviews are scheduled to take place on the 24th and 25th of February 2020.
