We welcome trainees into this friendly department and can take up to 11 WTE at any one time. They are exposed to a wide range of pathology affording learning opportunities to both junior and senior trainees. All Consultant Radiologists and our team of Consultant and Clinical Specialist Radiographers assist with teaching and supervision of trainees who are well supported at all times during their placement at the Trust. Feedback from trainees is consistently good with many requesting further attachments with us and several returning to take up Consultant posts. Both diagnostic and interventional radiology are provided on-call on 2 separate rotas.
There are many teaching and learning opportunities within the department, including involvement in Undergraduate education and the training of allied professional groups. We are involved in local Medical Careers Conferences and provide an annual Masterclass for those preparing for FRCR 2B examinations. We also offer taster sessions to those interested in a career in Radiology.
