External Courses

Whilst no external courses are mandated as part of Internal Medicine Training the School of Medicine at HEE are aware of some relatively short free courses you can do. Some of the time for these could count towards your personal development requirement as outlined in our Study Leave Policy for 2020/2021. We are happy for you to use your study leave in these ways however as with all study leave it has to be agreed with your employing organisation and there may be certain rotations where they are unable to provide the time required for this so it's best to discuss with your supervisor sooner rather than later if you're considering these options.

NHS Leadership Academy - Edward Jenner Programme

A highly regarded online course with two levels available: Launch (5 hours) and Foundations (35 hours) both of which are highly flexible.

Free to trainees whilst at Sheffield Teaching Hospitals this face to face course teaches the local approach to quality improvement and is well worth going on.
