FDS Trainees Career Conference: Mon 14 Nov 22: RCS Eng. Lincoln's Inn Fields

The Faculty of Dental Surgery is hosting a Trainees Career Conference and would be delighted if you were able to disseminate information for this day to all interested parties, primarily foundation dentists and anyone interested in getting a flavour of the different career pathways available to them via our afternoon workshops.

The conference aims to provide trainees with an insight into the various specialty based careers that the dental profession has to offer. Specialists and specialist trainees from  various disciplines will provide valuable insight into the scope of work each speciality, the career steps that perspective applicants are expected to have experienced and the do’s and  don’t’ of the application processes.

The planned programme is available here.

Please register to attend on the link below.

Perceptions of Undertaking a Higher Degree Alongside Dental Specialty Training

Dear Dental Specialty Registrar,

We would like to invite you to take part in a research project on the perceptions of undertaking/not undertaking a higher degree alongside dental specialty training. At present very little is known in relation to the number of dental specialty registrars that undertake higher degrees alongside specialty training and whether undertaking/not undertaking a higher degree has an impact on:

•     Completion of Specialist Training;

•     Research skills and experience;

•     Patient care; and

•     Career opportunities

Participation in this survey is entirely voluntary. No identifiable information is captured in the survey and all data collected are anonymous. By completing the survey, you give your consent to participate in this research.

This survey will take approximately 5-10 minutes to complete and can be accessed with the following link:
