Training Programmes.

The Core Surgery themed rotations in HEE Yorkshire and the Humber are designed to provide themed training in the following specialties:

Each two year themed rotation includes two 6-month placements within the theme specialty and two 6-month placements within affiliated specialties. Most trainees will rotate through General Surgery and Trauma & Orthopaedics as part of the Surgical Core Curriculum in order to fulfil the requirements of the MRCS.

Each rotation is devised to provide a year in a peripheral hospital and a year in a teaching hospital to maximise training experience. As a consequence rotational swaps will be considered only in the most exceptional circumstances.
