70% ATTENDANCE IS COMPULSORY TO ACHIEVE AN OUTCOME 1 AT ARCP

THIS EQUATES TO A TOTAL OF 9 SESSIONS OUT OF 12 OVER THE YEAR, INCLUDING THE MONTHLY TEACHING SESSIONS, SCHOOL OF SURGERY CONFERENCE AND THE TRAINEES' DAY

The education days consist of lectures in the mornings and skills sessions in the afternoons, which have been designed to provide you with training in both technical and non-technical skills listed in the Core Surgical Syllabus.

Each month the programme is run on different days (where possible) in each sector. You should endeavour to attend the session in your sector but if this clashes with on call commitments or study/annual leave you may attend the equivalent session in another sector. However you should only attend one skills session per month and the 70% attendance cannot be ‘made up’ by attending the same session three times in different sectors.  This rule does not apply to either the School of Surgery Conference or the Trainees' Day which are in addition to the monthly teachings.

Please see the attachment below for the current teaching programme.

If you are having difficulties attending the education programme due to service commitments within your trust SPEAK TO YOUR AES, COLLEGE TUTOR OR EDUCATIONAL TPD.
