I am a Specialty Physician within the Department of Infection and Tropical Medicine at the Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. I hold a CCT in General (Internal) Medicine, a MSc in International Health and a PhD in Molecular Virology. I have contributed to the literature with publications on various topics in Infectious Diseases including hepatitis B and C, novel antimicrobial agents, bacterial and fungal infections. I have completed the Diploma in Tropical Medicine and Hygiene at the Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine and I have worked in the tropics, mainly in Tanzania and Ethiopia. I am a member of several scientific societies including the RCP, ESCMID, EASL, BIA and BSAC. I am a Honorary Clinical Lecturer within the Department of Infection and Immunity of the Faculty of Medicine, Dentistry and Health at the University of Sheffield and I am actively involved in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching.
