Train the Trainer

Faculty of Public Health (FPH) guidance requires that an Educational Supervisor is appointed to each trainee with responsibility for planning, co-ordinating and supervising training. Supervisors are expected to get a minimum amount of training each year as part of their CPD requirements. Since training may well be an essential aspect of work as a consultant, supervisor development should begin at trainee level.

Health Education England Yorkshire and the Humber host 3 train the trainer sessions a year. Supervisors are expected to attend a minimum of 3 Train the Trainers sessions over 3 years.

Train the Trainer Day

Date: 5th September 2018
Time: All day - start time to be confirmed
Venue: Radisson Blu, Leeds
Topic: Moving from Training to Consultant – How can trainees make themselves ready to be a consultant?  What can ESs do to help with the transition from trainee to consultant?

Yorkshire & Humber Public Health Annual Conference

Yorkshire & Humber Public Health Annual Conference

Please note that this Conference is designed for current/future registrars, supervisors and faculty members within the Yorkshire & Humber School of Public Health. Registration requests from people outside the School will be added to a waiting list and confirmation of your place will be sent out, should any places become available.

The Annual Conference will be held on Tuesday 19th and Wednesday 20th June 2018 at St George's Conference Centre, Leeds.

The two day Conference is being run by Public Health Specialty Registrars.  On one of the days we open the invitation to Educational Supervisors, Public Health Consultants and Directors of Public Health in our region. Please note that this year Wednesday 20th is the SpR only day. The Conference provides an excellent opportunity to hear exciting speakers present on work related to the conference theme, for networking with Public Health colleagues and sharing experiences of work happening in all three domains of Public Health.

The theme for this year’s conference is 'Perspectives on health inequalities: grass roots and grand ideas'.

Information on how to register your place will be announced shortly.

Please note that places on each day are limited and if you do not register we may not able to accomodate you if you simply arrive on the day. Additionally, if you do not register we cannot guarantee that any dietary needs can be taken into account.

If you discover that you are no longer able to attend, please email the school mailbox as soon as is practical and we can then free this space to allow someone else to attend.
