ARCP (Annual Review of Competency Progression)
The aim of the Annual Review of Competency Progression (ARCP) is to review, typically on an annual basis, the full scope of work of doctors in training to assess their progression against set standards, defined by their specialty training curriculum as well as against revalidation requirements. At your ARCP a designated panel will review the evidence you and your educational supervisor have provided, in your electronic portfolio, to determine whether you are progressing at the expected rate, or, at the end of ST7, whether you can complete your training and apply for a certificate of completion of training (CCT).

All ARCP are hosted online via Microsoft Teams. The panel members will convene in the morning, review documented and submitted evidence and agree an outcome. A feedback session will be held in the afternoon where trainees will receive 1:1 feedback with a member of the faculty. This feedback will be based on the panels discussion of the reviewed evidence. There will be opportunity for discussion related to training matters and wellbeing.
Times and details to access the videoconferencing will be made available to trainees at a later date.
The TPD may hold ad hoc panels later in the year should the need arise but this should not be read as an option to have your ARCP on alternative date.
South ARCP panels will be held on the FIRST Tuesday in June and the FIRST Tuesday in December.
North ARCP panels will be held on the SECOND Tuesday in June and the SECOND Tuesday in December.
Additional ad-hoc panels may be held later in the year should the need arise, but this should not be read as an option to request your ARCP on alternative date.
PLEASE NOTE:
ALL POSTGRADUATE DOCTORS IN TRAINING ARE EXPECTED TO HAVE SUBMITTED ALL EVIDENCE TO THEIR PORTFOLIO NO LATER THAN 10 WORKING DAYS PRIOR TO THE ARCP TAKING PLACE.
