James Fotheringham undertook his entire training in South Yorkshire and considers himself fortunate to work here as a consultant and researcher, sharing his time between the Sheffield Kidney Institute and the University of Sheffield’s School of Health and Related Research. In addition to his research which is primarily focused on improving outcomes on renal replacement therapy funded through a range of grants and industry collaborations, he has an active role in medical education. He is organises and delivers teaching on renal medicine for undergraduates and doctors in training, in addition to the TPD South role which he commenced in 2020.
