Joint Dental Foundation Core Training (JDFCT)
The Yorkshire and the Humber Joint Dental Foundation Core Training programme (JDFCT) is a two year programme that combines Dental Foundation Training and Dental Core Training Year 1. Twelve trainees are recruited to Yorkshire and the Humber each year.
Trainees will alternate working between a primary care and secondary care setting througout the programme. Trainees will have an Educational Supervisor for both their primary care and secondary care sites.
All trainees working across Yorkshire and the Humber will be employed by Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust.
JDFCT Trainees will be required to complete both the Dental Foundation Training (DFT) and Dental Core Year 1 Training (DCT) curricula by the end of the two year training programme.
Trainees will be subject to an RCP and FRCP in line with the DFT and DCT. All evidence will be uploaded to Axia ePortfolio.

Trainees will be recruited via Oriel. JDFCT Trainees will be recruited alongside Dental Foundation Trainees.

Prior to starting the programme, JDFCTs will be invited to attend an Introduction to Training in OMFS (ITOMS).
