How your on call works

 

 

Depending on which hospital you are working in at any given time, your out-of-hours responsibilities may include long day shifts (i.e. on site from 9am-9pm), weekends (resident during the day, non-resident on call overnight) and non-resident weekday overnight on call.

 

There will always be a consultant on call whom you will be able to contact for advice.

 

Haematology trainees are not on the acute general medical rota - all on call duties therefore relate to haematology cover.
