Recruitment and Retention
Haematology training is a 5 year programme. There are opportunities for out-of-programme experiences including research. Entry to the programme is at ST3 level.
Recruitment is co-ordinated nationally. The lead recruiter for haematology is the Severn Deanery http://www.st3recruitment.org.uk/specialties/haematology.
Applicants may enter haematology training through either adult (e.g. Core Medical Training (pre-2019) or Internal Medicine (from 2019 onwards)) or paediatric training pathways. Possession of full MRCP or MRCPCH are required at the point of taking up a haematology training post although applications may be made if the applicant has achieved either MRCP (Part 1) or MRCPCH (Part 1: A and B).
