Level 2 Special Care Dentistry Training
Applications now open
Applications are now open to dentists aspiring to complete a programme that will provide them will the opportunity to fulfil all the requirements of a portfolio to gain accreditation as a Level 2 practitioner in Special Care Dentistry.
The 2-year programme will compromise of 10 study days and one session every other week in the community dental service under the supervision of a specialist in special care dentistry with tutorials. Completion of the portfolio and further reading would also be expected outside of these sessions.
The programme is open to those already working in the CDS and GDPs, and efforts will be made to match successful applicants with their local service. Those applying from the CDS will need to demonstrate support from their clinical lead.

Please note placements are not paid and completion of the programme does not automatically provide level 2 accreditation. Any time missed from placements or study days would have to be made up by applicants themselves to ensure portfolio requirements are met
