Career Support and Advice.
There’s someone on hand at Health Education England working across Yorkshire and the Humber to offer you the relevant support and advice at all points of your career.
Heath Education England, Yorkshire and the Humber (HEEYH) aims to support dental registrants in difficulty through our Restoring the Efficiency of Registrants (RER) scheme. This includes support for all categories of General Dental Council (GDC) registrants for example, dentists, therapists, hygienists, nurses and technicians. Registrants may self refer to HEEYH or be advised to seek help by their defence organisation, NHS ENGLAND Area Team or by the GDC.
Support can be offered to registrants who are undergoing an investigation, such as a GDC committee hearing or a LAT investigation. In these types of cases, HEEYH can help a registrant satisfy conditions that have been placed on their registration, or to meet voluntary undertakings.
Please note that ultimate responsibility for remediation rests with the registrant. The role of Health Education England is to provide assistance in drawing up a remediation action plan, to give advice on resources available to the registrant, to monitor the milestones in the action plan and to report back to the referring agency.
The cost of a remediation programme is also the responsibility of the registrant. Completed application forms should be returned to dentalsupport.yh@hee.nhs.uk

Are you planning to take a break from dentistry? Returning after a career break? Struggling to keep up to date with CPD requirements?
If any of the above applies to you then our Workforce Support Advisor, Paul Wright, and the dental nurse tutor are here to help you. Julia Armstrong is our Dental Workfroce Development Tutor (DCP). We also have a Dental Tutor for Hygiene and Therapy, who can answer aspects of postgraduate training for this group of DCPs.
The role of the Dental Workforce Advisor is to help dentists, therapists and hygienists at those times during their careers when they feel they are insufficiently skilled to provide safe and effective care for their patients.
The Dental Nurse tutors can help you with your personal development plan, and are available to visit your practice to introduce and discuss your plan and life-long learning.
