Number of Posts: 1
Post start date: August 2023
This post aims to give a leadership fellow (LF) opportunity to develop leadership competencies, values and behaviours by leading a training quality improvement (QI) project. The LF will get involved in the implementation of the Progress+ curriculum in Paediatrics and develop and implement their own innovative quality improvement projects to support this work and improve training across Yorkshire and the Humber. This will have a positive impact on recruitment and retention, which remain a challenge within the area. The LF will continue the ongoing trainee charter work, aiming to embed trainee admin time in local rotas and work with trusts to develop innovative rotas and new strategies to address rota gaps. They will also contribute to decisions about future changes to training posts and support the implementation of the new speciality teaching programme and its blackboard presence. There will also be opportunity to pursue other projects of their own choice and involvement in the local IMG support group. The LF will be working with other trainees, the School, local trusts, the ICS and at national level. This project will have regional and national impact by demonstrating how a training QI tool can lead to improved training and ultimately improved patient outcomes.
