This is an exciting opportunity for the successful candidate to lead a project integrating genomics across medical specialities to enhance patient care. The Clinical Leadership Fellow will develop a clinical pathway between pathology teams, cardiology and genetics services for families affected by sudden cardiac death (SCD). This will increase access to genomic testing and clinical screening for these families, providing opportunities to avoid preventable deaths. The project will act as an exemplar of integration of genomic medicine in mainstream clinical specialities, with opportunities to present the outcome of the project nationally and produce a generic framework for clinical pathway development and new models of care.
This Clinical Leadership Fellow will obtain significant leadership experience at local and national levels within Genomic Medicine, whilst allowing for specialist career development for the fellow in their areas of interest. This is a one-year leadership development post based in Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust, with opportunities to work with colleagues across the North East and Yorkshire region from pathology, cardiology, laboratory and clinical genetics services.
