SAS Doctors
Speciality and Specialist Doctors (SAS)
We support Speciality and Specialist Grade doctors within the region in their pursuit of Continuing Professional Development. To allow us to support the approximately 1100 SAS doctors in the Yorkshire and Humber region, the Department of Health provides funding for the SAS Development Fund.

GMC - Certificate confirming Eligibility for Specialist Registration (CESR) applications through Article 14
The General Medical Council has developed a system whereby SAS doctors can apply under Article 14 of the General and Specialist Medical Practice Order for a CESR. This would apply to staff that have not completed a specified training programme.
GPs who have not followed a GMC-approved training programme can apply under Article 11 of the Order for a Certificate confirming Eligibility for General Practice Registration (CEGPR).
The GMC website has some key documents and criteria in relation to this.
