Hull University Teaching Hospital is working together with Health Education England to offer an exciting opportunity for a pharmacist to gain a unique leadership experience. If successful you will be offered a one year secondment as a leadership fellow, completing a novel antimicrobial stewardship project while being given leadership coaching and opportunities. You will research and implement a protocol for de-labelling patients with erroneous penicillin allergies. This will be a trust wide initiative bringing together the departments of infectious diseases, immunology and surgery to facilitate de-labelling using detailed history taking and direct oral challenge. It is envisaged that the process will be implemented through surgical pre-assessment clinics. You will establish best methodology for patient selection and propose a suitable implementation plan to embed the practice. De-labelling patients has been proven to have positive antimicrobial stewardship outcomes, improving patient outcomes and reduced hospital stay.
You will be given significant opportunities for exposure to the highest level of trust leadership allowing you to gain enhanced skills and competencies essential to a future leader.
