About Medicine in Yorkshire and the Humber

The School of Medicine in Yorkshire and the Humber is responsible for training doctors from CT1 level right up to their CCT in a medical specialty. There are around 30 specialties covered in it from large multi-site specialties found in most hospitals (such as geriatric or respiratory medicine) through to specialties only covered in a single geographic location.

Trainees work in Yorkshire and the Humber for a number of reasons ranging from the academic excellence of our universities and teaching hospitals to the fantastic, beautiful and highly varied cities, towns and villages in the region that provide access to some of the countries best mountain ranges or coastlines.
