What makes Yorkshire and the Humber an exciting place to work?.

Looking for excellent training tailored to your needs combined with a great lifestyle?

Christian Prudhomme, the Director of the Tour de France, said that the two days of the Tour in Yorkshire in 2014 were “The best ever Grand Depart for the Tour de France”.  We think that we can give your general practice training the best possible start if you come to Yorkshire and the Humber. It is a great place to learn, live, and work in and provides excellent support to becoming a GP.

After having your fill of the bars, clubs, restaurants and cafés in Yorkshire's friendly, multicultural and vibrant cities head out into miles of breathtaking countryside - rolling dales, starkly beautiful moorland and dramatic coastline dotted with ancient villages and ruined abbeys. The Tour de France and Olympic success speak volumes about the county's sporting pedigree. World famous theatres, the Northern Ballet, award winning museums, sculpture, Bronte country, concerts in grand Victorian halls or modern venues provide a rich cultural landscape, crowned by Hull's status as European Capital of Culture 2017. Enjoy general practice training on one of our well established vocational training schemes offering the chance to care for a diverse population in varied rural and urban settings. Take advantage of the 'out of programme experience' in New Zealand or South Africa, training in medical education through Leeds University's specialist trainee visiting lecturer scheme and preparation for leadership roles post-CCT through innovative training opportunities. Reasonably priced housing, excellent schools, top rated universities and friendly people guarantee a great lifestyle. Advanced Care Practice Opportunities in Primary Care

Health Education England is seeking bids from practices who wish to develop their clinical team by using AHPs in these advanced practice roles, thereby supplementing the work of nurse practitioners and general practitioners. In this new and exciting development which is a step change and increases the number of advanced practice posts supported by HEE YH we are able to support a further 20 AHP advanced practitioner training posts, all of whom be based within the primary and community care teams.
