Applications are invited from candidates wishing to undertake a sub-specialty training programme in Interventional Radiology with NHS England.

This post offers a unique opportunity to obtain comprehensive training in interventional radiology (IR). This is part of the Yorkshire & Humber School of Radiology and will be coordinated by the Training leads for IR in Yorkshire and the Humber.

NHS England Yorkshire and the Humber offers excellent facilities and opportunities for radiologists wishing to subspecialise in Interventional Radiology. A combination of teaching hospital and DGH placements will ensure that core competencies in general radiology are maintained while increasing experience of interventional procedures to level 2 can be attained prior to completion of training. The posts will incorporate both vascular and non-vascular interventional radiology training.

The expected duration of this programme is 1 or 3 years of training (dependent on whether entering at ST4 or ST6); however, the actual duration may depend on the circumstances of the individual.

The Interventional Radiology (IR) sub-specialty training programmes have RCR approval and are designed to fulfil the RCR training requirements for a Consultant Interventional Radiologist as outlined in the sub-speciality training curriculum for and are in line with the 2021 Interventional Radiology curriculum.
