The National Recruitment Office for ST3 Otolaryngology (ENT) is NHS England - North East & Yorkshire. All posts have the required educational and Dean’s approval.
NHS England - North East & Yorkshire is co-ordinating national recruitment for vacancies in ENT ST3 and LAT posts across England and Scotland. Applications open at 10am on Thursday 20 November 2025 and the closing date is 4pm on Thursday 11 December 2025.
Otolaryngology (ENT) ST3 interviews will be held online on 11-12 March 2026. A second round of recruitment is not expected in 2026. Applicants are requested to submit one application electronically for all vacancies via the Oriel recruitment portal.
The 2026 Applicant Handbook and Self Assessment guidance will be published in due course.
Statement: MRCS (ENT) Examination Cessation (Updated)
Please note
Due to recent changes published by the examinations board, the eligibility criteria for ENT ST3 level will now begin from the 2025 round of recruitment, which opens in November 2024.
The changes are reflected in the person specification going forward.
The MRCS (ENT) examination will no longer be an essential qualification on the person specification. Applicants will only be required to have completed all parts of the MRCS examination in line with the other surgical specialities. We will however, continue to accept MRCS (ENT) as evidence of eligibility for the foreseeable future. More information can be found on the intercollegiate exams website here.
