Course offerings

PGMDE Learner Support & Faculty Development courses are aimed at doctors & dentists in training (including public health registrars) and to clinical faculty (including Educational Supervisors, Training Programme Directors and senior faculty).


Professional Skills

Professional Skills courses offer access to non-clinical personal and professional development courses which support and enhance good medical practice. Professional Skills courses are aimed at doctors, dentists, and public health registrars enrolled on a specialty training programme.

Supported Return to Training (SuppoRTT)

SuppoRTT courses are available to doctors, dentists, and public health registrars who are currently out of training, or who have returned to training within the last three months.

Coaching

Coaching courses are available only to NHSE YH coaches who have completed the NHSE YH Coaching Training and are part of the Coaching Faculty.

Coaches can find information on upcoming CPD and Supervision sessions on the Coaches Newsletter.


Future Leaders

The Future Leaders Programme is a multidisciplinary clincal leadership fellowship coordinated by NHSE Yorkshire and the Humber. Future Leaders courses provide opportunities to explore aspects of leadership and develop leadership skills. Future Leaders courses are exclusive to fellows on the Future Leaders Programme.

Faculty Development

The Faculty Development programme provides a suite of courses designed to enhance educators skills in supporting Postgraduate Doctors in Training (PGDiTs), improving their understanding of teaching technologies, increasing their confidence in leadership, and much more!

International Medical Graduates

We provide a range of bespoke courses to support International Medical Graduates (IMGs) with their integration into the UK Healthcare System as well as more general workshops that aim to promote wellbeing and enhance personal and or professional behaviours.

GP Intending Trainers

GP Intending Trainer courses are a series of mandatory courses for General Practitioners on the trainer approval pathway. GPs interested in becoming a trainer should view the information on the school website and enrol onto the trainer approval pathway before booking any Intending Trainer courses.

GP Trainer Courses include trainer seminars, and annual spring and autumn school workshops to support GP trainer re-approval and development.

Code of Conduct

Attendance & Study leave

Attendance at these courses once booked should be mandatory. Therefore, please ensure that you have booked study leave where necessary in order to attend the course. Although many of these courses are free for you to attend, they are expensive commissioned resources, and your attendance is important. If you do not attend multiple courses without prior cancellation, you will receive a MaxCourse account ban and an email will be sent to you and your TPD. 

Cancellations

If you can no longer attend a course, you should cancel your place via Maxcourse as soon as possible. Online cancellations are only available up to one week prior to the course start date. After this time, if you can no longer attend a course, you should email england.lsfdcourses.yh@nhs.net

Joining virtual courses

Prior to the start of a virtual courses, you should ensure that your technology is working and that you have the ability to access the virtual platform. It is generally recommended that you log on to courses 10 minutes prior to the course start time to allow for any technical issues. If you are having difficulties joining the session, you should email the course facilitator and england.lsfdcourses.yh@nhs.net to inform them. If you are aware that you are going to be late to the course, this should be discussed and agreed with the course facilitator prior to the course, and notification of this should be provided at your earliest availability. You may not be allowed to attend a course if you are more than 30 minutes late to the start without prior agreement.
