Many high-quality educational events are held in all areas of Health Education England working across Yorkshire and the Humber. Some are closely linked to the medical curricula, others are of more general educational interest. The School organises many such events, as does the Royal College of Physicians (RCP) also – the Regional RCP Office is situated in the West Yorkshire Office and we frequently co-host meetings. Health Education England working across Yorkshire and the Humber strives to provide sufficient courses and events within our area, such that trainees need not have to travel further afield, and at annual review the trainees need to discuss their educational needs as part of the formation of their Personal Development Plans (PDPs). The majority of these events are free of charge, or organised on a ‘not for profit’ basis.
Health Education England working across Yorkshire and the Humber study-leave policies and forms can be found on the policies section. These emphasise the need to obtain the approval of your Educational Superviser, and to give sufficient notice. Expenses are only reimbursed for external courses that are on an approved list (linked to the curricula), and your specialty TPD can advise on these.
