Professor Bill Newman, Director of Greater Manchester Genomic Medicine Centre:
Rare inherited conditions affect more than 3 million people in the UK and cancer affects one in three people. We are now able to provide tests to more individuals and families than ever before to diagnose the cause of their health problems and select the correct cancer treatment. The 100,000 Genomes Project is the next step in improving the way that we deliver genetic testing across the NHS and we look forward to working with you on this exciting program.
