Along with the development and provision of generic skills for a range of medical professionals within Yorkshire & the Humber, the Education Team is responsible for the management and facilitation of a variety of elements and work functions which are aimed at providing career support and development for Trainees, Educators and SAS Doctors.
We offer a number of courses and training packages for both trainees and educators.
The team is led by Dr Peter Taylor, with senior support provided by three Associate Postgraduate Deans and a Business Manager.

In 2015, one of the key areas that focused upon was the implementation of Trainer Accreditation. The GMC mandated that all medical educators involved with postgraduate training should have official accreditation by 2016. This process was developed and managed by the individual LETBs in accordance with the national steer.
We will also be working to develop closer links with local Universities to strengthen the delivery of education and the specialty curricula, and to hopefully create more opportunities for trainees and educators alike to participate in educational events and activities.
A further priority will be to both develop and define a more collaborative approach across the LETB between the medical and non-medical elements of the organisation, with a longer term view of creating one overall strategy in respect of education function.
