In November, the Dental Faculty presented the first educational Roadshow event to support foundation training
Held at the Leeds Marriott Hotel for Health Education England working across Yorkshire and the Humber trainees, the day was organised and hosted by Brian Nattress, RCSed Regional Dental Adviser (RDA), and was attended by over 90 recent dental graduates from across the country.
This was the first of what is hoped to be many more UK-wide events to help Dental Foundation Trainees.
The theme for the Faculty’s first Roadshow programme was suggested by Pamela Ellis, RDA for the South West of England, and was entitled “Biological Impact of Dentistry in the 21st Century”, while the Vice Dean, Rob Chate, organised the contributing speakers.
The success of the day was assured by the support provided by Laura Whytock and her College Education team, as well as through the trade exhibitions and generous sponsorship from Denplan, Dental Protection, Evident, Kerr, Wesleyan Medical Sickness and Wiley Blackwell publishers, who provided two prize-draw textbooks won by Alexandra Callaghan and Amanda Pycock.
Overall, 98% of the dental foundation trainees rated the event as either good or excellent, giving a clear indication for the Faculty to continue extending its Roadshow programme across the UK.
