Dental Core Training.
A Welcome to Dental Core Training (DCT) in Yorkshire and the Humber from your Associate Postgraduate Dental Dean Ghazala Ahmad-Mear.
Following a year of Dental Foundation Training, Dental Core Training offers participants the experience of working in a range of settings and posts including hospitals, community practices and in the community as a whole, promoting wellbeing in a public health role.
This grade runs a maximum of three years (DCT1, DCT2 and DCT3).
DCT trainees also have to attend study days throughout the year. DCT is designed to help you become a well-rounded clinician by improving your clinical skills and by developing other skills such as communication, patient care, time management, research and decision making.
NHS England working across Yorkshire and the Humber has a number of hospital posts across the region where there is the opportunity to work in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, Restorative Dentistry, Oral Surgery, Paediatric Surgery and Oral Medicine/Oral Pathology. We also have posts available in Salaried Dental Services, including primary care.
